I had grand plans of having a new layout and cool widgets and whatnots for this blog. I figured I had a few weeks before Lizzie came into season, but she decided to surprise me by starting to spot today. Instead, here’s a quick update of what’s been going on and what we plan for the future.
In March, we bought and moved into a farmhouse built in 1860 and added onto over the last 150 years. The house has some interesting quirks and decor, but the bones are great and we’re looking forward to making it “ours” over the years. The best part is that the house is on 5 acres and in the summer will be surrounded on three sides by corn, so we have all the room and privacy we ever wanted. Now that we’re out from the space & zoning restrictions of suburbia, its time to take the next step for Pantheon Acres and breed our first litter.

We bought Lizzie to be our foundation bitch and now its time for her to earn her keep. 😉 Of course, because she came into season tonight, we’ve got to scramble to find a vet in our new town who can do the progesterone testing. Luckily, we already have a good reproductive vet, Dr. Mary Ann Sheller in Valparaiso, IN. Its a bit of a drive, but I’ve been so impressed with her and her reputation and Lizzie it worth it.

I plan on posting tests and results as things happen. Next time – hopeful a new vet & the first progesterone results.
